| Obverse description | The obverse is dominated by the ornate coat of arms of the City of Apolda, centrally placed within a decorative shield supported by elaborate foliate mantling in red and gold, surmounted by a crested helm. Large red numeral denominators '25 Pf.' flank the arms on either side. A banner scroll beneath the arms bears the validity and acceptance conditions in Gothic script, with the issuance date 'Apolda, den 1. August 1921.' inscribed below. The lower portion carries two signature lines for the Gemeindevorstand and Gemeinderat, with the issuing authority inscription 'Notgeld der Stadt Apolda' set in a yellow-orange cartouche along the top border. |
