Obverse description Tan-toned notgeld note with a red double-rule border enclosing four circular silhouette portrait medallions at the corners, identified by script captions as Goethe (upper left), Schiller (upper right), Herder (lower left), and Wieland (lower right). At center, the Weimar civic arms — a rampant lion within an ornate oval wreath — forms the principal vignette, flanked by two columns of poetic verse in cursive script. The denomination title 'Notgeld der Stadt Weimar' appears at top in Gothic script with 'Fünfundzwanzig Pfennig' in red below, and a serial number with two manuscript signatures and official text appear at the foot of the note.

Reverse description The reverse is dominated by a large letterpress vignette of the Goethehaus am Frauenplan rendered in a detailed period engraving style, with figures in early nineteenth-century dress gathered in the forecourt before the neoclassical façade. The denomination numeral '25' appears in red at each of the four corners against the tan ground, with vertical floral ornamental borders in red framing the central scene. A three-line quotation in cursive script attributed to Goethe, 1828, is printed beneath the architectural vignette, with the title 'Goethehaus am Frauenplan' in Gothic script at the top.
Reverse lettering Goethehaus am Frauenplan.
