Obverse description The obverse is printed in deep green and dark red on an uncoloured paper ground, enclosed within a double-rule border. A large stylised numeral '25' dominates the centre, overlaid by a bold red spread eagle — the heraldic emblem of Arnstadt — rendered in a vigorous woodcut style. The legend 'Notgeld der Stadt Arnstadt' runs along the upper margin in Gothic blackletter script, while validity text ('Gültig bis Mo-nat nach Aufru...') appears at lower left and the issuing authority inscription 'Der Magistrat' with a manuscript signature appears at lower right; the designer's name 'A. Paul Weber' is lettered below the frame.
