Reichenbach in Silesia — now Dzierżoniów in southwestern Poland — was one of hundreds of German administrative districts that issued Notgeld during the inflationary crisis years following the First World War. The district committee, rather than a municipal savings bank or private firm, was the issuing authority here, which places this squarely in the local emergency money wave of 1918–1921.
Carl Flemming & T. C. Wiskott A.G. in Glogau were a well-established regional printing house with a long history of producing securities and commercial print — not a fly-by-night operation pressed into service by the currency chaos, but a firm with genuine technical capability.
