| Obverse description | The upper portion of the note is dominated by the heraldic arms of Schwaan — a crowned shield bearing a swan, flanked by elaborate red acanthus scrollwork and two outward-facing swans rendered in a bold Jugendstil woodcut style against a grey-green ground, with the denomination '25 Pfs.' printed in Gothic script at upper left and right. A broad red horizontal band across the centre carries the issuer legend in white Gothic lettering.
