| Obverse description | Humorous expressionist vignette occupying the upper portion of the note, rendered in a bold illustrative style: a stooped figure in a yellow waistcoat leans over a round pedestal table, grasping a large fish on a platter with fork in hand, the table supported by the figure's own checkered trousered legs ending in rounded shoes. To the lower left, a Low German dialect inscription in Gothic blackletter script occupies a large portion of the field, with the denomination '25 Pfennig' in large stylized numerals and lettering at lower right.
