Obverse description Printed in blue, grey, yellow, and green, the obverse centres on an oval vignette of the 'Teufelsküche' (Devil's Kitchen), a prehistoric megalithic dolmen rendered against a stylised woodland background. Large white numeral '25' appears at lower left and right flanking the vignette, while the issuer legend and validity clause occupy a yellow banner scroll beneath it. A sawtooth and foliate border frames the entire composition.

Reverse description Printed in salmon-pink and dark brown, the reverse presents a rectangular landscape vignette captioned 'STADTHEIDE', portraying a heathland scene with tall trees and open ground in an expressionist woodcut manner. The denomination '25 Pf.' appears in large white numerals at left and right of the vignette. Two lines of verse attributed to the poet Friedrich Rückert are set in bold letterpress type within the lower border area.
