Obverse description Brown and pink Notgeld note with a decorative dashed border enclosing the entire design. The denomination "25 Pfennig" appears in bold in the upper left and right corners, with the central heading reading "Gutschein der Stadt Finsterwalde N./L. über Fünfundzwanzig Pfennig" in Gothic script. A central engraved panoramic vignette presents a townscape of Finsterwalde with church towers and rooftops. Text panels at left and right flanking the vignette state payment and validity conditions respectively, and the lower section carries the date "Finsterwalde, den 1. Oktober 1920" alongside a serial number, with two facsimile signatures on behalf of Der Magistrat and Die Stadtverordnetenversammlung.

Reverse description Printed in grey-black, the reverse is entirely covered by an intricate guilloche border composed of repeating floral and scroll motifs, with the numeral "25" set into each of the four corners within ornate cartouches. At the centre, an oval vignette presents a finely engraved view of the Finsterwalde Rathaus (town hall) with its distinctive clock tower and an adjacent church tower, surrounded by trees and open square.
