| Obverse description | Olive-yellow Notgeld voucher with an ornate letterpress border of stylised oak leaves and acorns at the sides and a vine-and-grape-cluster garland across the upper register. At centre top, a circular vignette contains an engraved view of Saarburg town gate and tower with the civic coat of arms above; the denomination numeral '25' appears in bold circular cartouches at all four corners. The large central inscription '25 PFENNIG' is set in bold blackletter type, below which a three-line German text states the note is accepted by the Stadtkasse Saarburg, Bez. Trier, and expires one month after cancellation announced in the Saarburger Kreisblatt. The place-date 'LUFTKURORT SAARBURG, den 1. Juli 1920.' appears at lower left, with the printed signature of the Bürgermeister Dr. Treitz at lower right. |
