| Obverse description | Typeset Notgeld voucher printed in brown on cream paper, enclosed within a decorative chain-link border running the full perimeter. Denomination numerals '25' appear in bold type within ruled panels at left and right, with the value word 'Fünfundzwanzig Pfennig.' set in large bold letterpress across the centre field, above which the title 'GUTSCHEIN der Stadt Peine' is printed in gothic and roman type. A faint ornamental underprint vignette occupies the centre of the note, and the lower portion carries the issuance text, validity clause, date 'Peine, im April 1917', and two manuscript signatures above the printed authority lines 'Der Magistrat' and 'Die Bürgervorsteher', with the printer's imprint 'Gebrüder Jänecke, Hannover' at lower right. |
