| Obverse description | The Mexican national arms occupies the central field, depicting an eagle displayed facing left, perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rock rising out of water, and devouring a serpent held in its beak and talon. The device is flanked by an oak branch to the left and a laurel branch to the right, tied at the base. The surrounding legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper periphery in Latin characters, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. |
