| Obverse description | Black intaglio on a light ochre underprint; the central field is occupied by a front-facing portrait vignette of Spanish statesman and financier Ramón de Santillán, enclosed within finely engraved geometric guilloche frames. Institutional inscriptions, denomination numerals, and the date "1º de Julio de 1884" are arranged around the portrait, with signature lines for the Governor, Comptroller, and Cashier at the lower margin. The black serial number appears in the upper portion of the note. |

| Reverse description | Printed in light blue, the reverse consists entirely of intricate geometric guilloche work arranged in concentric rectangular frames, with a central diamond-shaped panel enclosing the large numeral "25" surrounded by lathe-work rosettes and floral ornaments. Corner numerals "25" appear in each angle of the note, and the inscription "PESETAS" flanks the central motif. A repeating border of small circlets containing the numeral "25" runs along all four edges. |
