Additional information

Saint Helena has issued commemorative 25 pence crowns sporadically since the 1970s, largely for collector export rather than island circulation — the resident population of roughly 4,500 has little practical use for a large-denomination copper-nickel crown. This 2013 piece falls squarely in that tradition, produced under the Crown dependency's authority to issue its own coinage independently of the Royal Mint's standard UK schedule.
