| Obverse description | Right-facing diademed and draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the portrait by Arnold Machin, depicting the queen wearing a tiara with flowing hair. The circumscribed legend reads QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND in the upper arc and TWENTY FIVE PENCE in the lower arc, both in raised capital letters. The truncation of the bust is bare-shouldered, characteristic of Machin's second portrait used on Commonwealth coinage from the late 1960s onward. |
