Reverse description A detailed depiction of the iron barque West Riding under full sail occupies the gold-toned aluminium bronze centre, rendered with fine engraving showing the ship's rigging, masts, and hull upon stylised waves. The copper-nickel outer ring bears the denomination legend TWENTY FIVE PENCE arcing along the lower portion, flanked by a beaded border on both the inner and outer edges. The composition creates a striking bimetallic contrast between the ship design and the surrounding ring.

Additional information

Stoltenhoff Island is one of the Tristan da Cunha group in the South Atlantic, uninhabited and administered as part of one of the most remote territories on earth. This issue is a classic example of the collector-targeted coinage that proliferated under license arrangements in the 2000s — the island has no resident population and no circulating currency need whatsoever. The coins are legal tender in name, issued under Crown authority, and exist almost entirely for the philatelic and numismatic trade.
