| Additional information |
East Burra is a small tidal island off the west coast of Shetland, connected to Burra Isle by a causeway, with a population measured in dozens. It has no issuing authority recognized under UK law, no mint relationship, and no monetary system of its own. Coins attributed to it are novelty issues produced by private token manufacturers — the "25 Pence" denomination itself is fictitious, as the UK has never circulated a 25p coin in standard commerce since the crown-sized commemorative series ended.
