Nepal's 25 paisa denominations effectively ceased to function as meaningful currency well before this series ended in 2000, with rampant inflation having eroded their purchasing power to near zero. The aluminium composition — adopted precisely because the metal cost less than the coin's face value — was itself a concession to that reality. The KM#1015.2 designation distinguishes this reduced small type from the earlier 1015.1 strikes, the difference lying in the size of the lettering on the coin's face.
