| Obverse description | Central trident symbol enclosed within a circular medallion, itself set within a stepped square frame divided into compartments bearing the royal legend in Devanagari script. The king's name and titles — Sri Sri Sri 5 Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev — radiate around the central device in a traditional Nepali mandala-style layout. The Bikram Sambat date 2038 appears at the base of the square frame. A beaded border runs along the outer rim of the coin. |
