| Obverse description | Central design features the Shah dynasty trident (trishul) enclosed within a raised circular cartouche at the center of a square panel, the square itself subdivided into compartments bearing the royal name and titles of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in Devanagari script. The royal honorific 'Shree Shree Shree' appears at the top of the field, outside the square. Auspicious symbols of the Nepalese royal tradition — including conch shells, a fly-whisk, a hand, and other regalia — are depicted in the surrounding fields between the square and the beaded border. The Bikram Sambat date (2030) appears at the base of the square panel. |
