Obverse description This is a bronzed obverse pattern strike, with the reverse side shown here as a plain, uniface field bearing no design elements. The flat, featureless surface — heavily abraded and exhibiting numerous contact marks — confirms this piece as a one-sided trial striking on a copper planchet, intended to test the obverse die alone. A partial beaded border is faintly discernible along the lower rim, consistent with the described inner ring of the obverse die. The overall appearance is consistent with a Kongsberg Mint experimental piece from the 1876 pattern series for Oscar II.
