Obverse description The obverse features the crowned royal cypher of King Frederik IX at center, comprising an interlaced cursive 'F' and 'R' surmounted by the numeral 'IX' below, all beneath a detailed royal crown. The cypher is flanked on either side by naturalistic sprays of oak leaves and acorns, whose branches cross at the base of the design. The date is divided by the crown and cypher, with the first two digits appearing to the left and the last two to the right of the central motif. The field is plain and unadorned, with no peripheral legend, giving the design a bold and heraldic character.
