Reverse description At center, the mythological ship Argo is depicted under sail upon stylized waves, set against a cartographic rendering of the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions, with a line tracing the legendary voyage route from Greece to Kolchis (present-day Georgia). Stylized waves occupy the lower field, with the denomination '25 ლარი' inscribed within. Surrounding the central design, a circular legend in Georgian Mkhedruli script and Latin letters reads 'საქართველო' and 'GEORGIA', with the year of issue '2006' also present in the legend.

Additional information

The Golden Fleece coinage draws on the Colchian myth rooted in the Rioni River valley of western Georgia — ancient Colchis — where alluvial gold was historically recovered using sheepskins laid in streambeds to trap fine particles. This was not legend embellished for a coin program; Greek and Roman sources, including Strabo, recorded the practice as observed fact.
