Obverse description The obverse features the socialist state coat of arms of Czechoslovakia centrally placed within the field: a shield of pentagonal form bearing a rampant double-tailed lion passant, with a smaller inescutcheon depicting a flaming torch at its base, the whole surmounted by a five-pointed star. The circular legend reads ČESKOSLOVENSKÁ SOCIALISTICKÁ REPUBLIKA, with the date 1962 positioned at the lower portion of the coin below the shield. The design was engraved by Marie Uchytilová-Kučová and reflects the formal socialist heraldic style of the period.
