| Additional information |
Sint Maarten issued a series of commemorative 25 Gulden pieces beginning around 2012, a denomination that exists purely as a collector vehicle — the island's actual circulating currency is the Netherlands Antillean guilder, shared with Curaçao. The gulden has no independent monetary infrastructure behind it on Sint Maarten itself, which makes these issues a curiosity of philatelic-numismatic marketing rather than sovereign coinage in any functional sense.
Silver-plated copper-nickel at this weight puts it squarely in the promotional collector tier, where melt value is irrelevant and survival rates are near total.
