| Obverse description | The rectangular field is dominated by an intricate guilloche wave pattern radiating across the entire surface, lending the piece the appearance of a refined gold bar. At centre, a circular reserve contains the coat of arms of Burundi, depicting a lion's head on a shield supported by traditional motifs.
