Obverse description The national coat of arms of Mali occupies the central field, depicting a stylized rising sun at the base, two crossed bows and arrows, and a representation of the Great Mosque of Djenné above, all enclosed within a circular border. A vulture with outstretched wings is positioned at the top of the arms. The denomination FRS. 25 appears in the lower central field. The legend REPUBLIQUE • DU • MALI arcs along the upper periphery, while the national motto UN PEUPLE • UN BUT • UNE FOI (One People, One Goal, One Faith) curves along the lower periphery, flanked by two small five-pointed stars.
