Comments

Guinea's 25 Francs denomination had an unusually short operational life within the post-sylli monetary framework. When the sylli was abandoned in 1985 and the franc restored at parity with the CFA Franc, the lower denominations were quickly rendered marginal by inflation — the 25 Francs note, in particular, lost meaningful purchasing power within just a few years of issue, which curtailed its practical circulation span considerably.

The print run of just over 12 million is modest for a West African small denomination, suggesting the issuing authority anticipated limited demand from the outset.
