| Obverse description | The papal coat of arms of Pope Francis occupies the central field, depicting the pontifical tiara above crossed keys, with the IHS Christogram set within a radiant sun at the centre of the shield. Flanking the arms are elaborate acanthus scroll ornaments in high relief. Three ribboned scrolls in the lower field bear the papal motto MISERANDO ATQUE ELIGENDO in Latin lettering.
