| Obverse description | The heraldic arms of Cardinal Camerlengo Kevin Joseph Farrell are centrally depicted, rendered in high relief against a plain field. The shield bears a rampant lion and is surmounted by the crossed Keys of Saint Peter beneath a pavilion or umbraculum — the traditional emblems of the Holy See during a papal interregnum — flanked by the tasselled cordons of a cardinal's hat. A ribbon scroll below the shield bears the motto STATE IN FIDE.
