| Additional information |
Etrechy is a commune in Essonne, south of Paris, and the Cercle Numismatique de la Juine — named for the Juine river that runs through the area — was among dozens of French regional numismatic clubs that issued fantasy or local currency pieces during the 1990s boom in privately struck commemorative silver. These issues had no legal tender status and circulated only among collectors and at regional fairs.
