Additional information

Singapore's Lunar Series coins have been issued annually since 1981, making the Monetary Authority one of the longest-running producers of bullion lunar issues outside of the major sovereign mints. The 2005 Rooster falls in the tenth cycle of the twelve-year zodiac rotation, meaning Singapore had already produced Rooster coins once before in 1993 under a substantially different design program.

At 155.52 grams, this is a five-troy-ounce piece — a format the MAS favored for its higher-denomination lunar issues to appeal to both regional collectors and the international bullion market simultaneously.
