Additional information

Hutt River Province — the self-declared principality carved out of a Western Australian wheat farm by Leonard Casley in 1970 after a dispute with the state government over wheat production quotas — issued a remarkable volume of numismatic material throughout the 1980s and 90s, much of it aimed squarely at collector markets rather than any pretense of circulation. The "Top Secret War" designation references Casley's 1977 declaration of war against Australia, which he withdrew two days later, a maneuver apparently intended to exploit a legal technicality involving Commonwealth obligations to its own citizens during wartime.
