| Reverse description | The reverse presents a single seven-spot ladybird (Coccinella septempunctata) rendered in bold polychrome coloring, its domed scarlet elytra with black spots occupying the upper central field in high relief, contrasting dramatically against a blackened background. The entire field is covered with an elaborate symmetrical guilloche of engraved floral and foliate mandala-like motifs, interlocking daisy and clover forms creating a lace-like tapestry of extraordinary intricacy. The insect's legs and head are depicted in fine monochrome engraving, gripping the ornamental background. At the lower center of the field, the engraver's initials and the mint mark LGM are discreetly inscribed. |
