| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Liberia occupies the central field, depicting a sailing ship approaching a shore with a rising sun, a palm tree, a dove in flight, and a plow, all above waves; a ribbon bearing the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE arches above the shield. The date 2003 is split to either side of the arms, with '20' to the left and '03' to the right. The circular legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA runs along the upper periphery, with REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA repeated along the lower rim within a beaded border. |

Liberia's early 2000s gold miniature program produced dozens of these small-format issues targeting the collector novelty market rather than any coherent numismatic tradition. Kafka himself died in 1924 before completing several of his major works, leaving Max Brod to defy his explicit instructions and publish them posthumously — an irony that would have suited the author perfectly. The Liberian government had no meaningful connection to Kafka or Czech literary history; the denomination is nominal and the coin never circulated.
