Obverse description The obverse bears the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting the monarch in right-facing profile as a mature portrait, uncrowned, wearing a necklace and drop earrings. The legend 'ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script. The portrait reflects the official Canadian effigy introduced in 2003, rendered with fine detail in the proof field.

Reverse description The reverse presents a highly detailed naturalistic composition depicting an adult wolf standing protectively over three young pups in a boreal forest setting, surrounded by coniferous branches, fallen logs, and underbrush. A wolf paw print is incused in the left field within a recessed panel, while the date '2013' appears to the right within a corresponding panel. The engraver's initials 'PL' are visible in the lower central field. The legend 'CANADA' arcs along the upper border, and the denomination '25 DOLLARS' is inscribed in a ribbon-like banner along the lower periphery.
