Ned Kelly was hanged at Melbourne Gaol on November 11, 1880, at age 25. The Cook Islands has no historical connection to him whatsoever — this is a bullion-adjacent commemorative issued under the Cook Islands' long-standing arrangement allowing foreign licensing of its coinage authority, a practice that has produced hundreds of thematically unrelated issues since the 1970s.
