Additional information

Part of the Perth Mint's broader "Dreaming" series drawing on Aboriginal spiritual traditions, this issue was produced during a period when the Australian gold bullion market was aggressively expanding its thematic offerings to compete with sovereign mint programs worldwide. The .9999 fineness — four nines — was a deliberate point of differentiation from the standard .9999 already used across the Kangaroo bullion series, maintaining consistency as a house standard rather than a premium exception.

The dolphin holds particular significance in several coastal Aboriginal traditions along Australia's western seaboard, where the Perth Mint is based.
