| Obverse description | A close-up frontal portrait of the Statue of Liberty dominates the obverse field, rendered in high relief with fine detail across the crown's radiating spikes and the figure's flowing hair. The legend LIBERTY arcs along the upper rim in bold raised letters, while the date 1998 appears to the right of the portrait in two stacked lines.
