Kuwait's Liberation Day issues commemorating the 1991 expulsion of Iraqi forces have been produced in various formats since the early 1990s, with the gilt silver versions occupying an awkward commercial middle ground — priced above bullion but below the pure gold strikes. The Central Bank has leaned heavily on this date for commemorative revenue, issuing successive anniversaries in overlapping formats that have diluted collector demand across the series.
