Obverse description Left-facing effigy of King George V wearing the Imperial State Crown, rendered in high relief in the style of MacKennal's classic portrait used on Canadian coinage from 1912 to 1936. The king is depicted in robes with a draped and beaded collar. The encircling legend reads GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: REX ET IND:IMP: in Latin script. The design faithfully replicates the original obverse portrait as it appeared on circulating 25-cent pieces of the George V era.
