Reverse description Central depiction of the Peace Tower of the Canadian Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, rendered in fine detail with a visible clock face and Gothic Revival architectural elements. Four large bells, treated in selective black rhodium, surround the tower and each bears one of the digits commemorating the years 1867 and 2017, referencing Canada's Confederation centennial and sesquicentennial. Laurel branches flank the composition on either side. The legend 25 CENTS CANADA appears along the lower portion of the field. The design is a stylized evocation of the unissued 1927 Canadian 25-cent coin reverse.
