Obverse description Crowned effigy of King George VI facing left, wearing the Tudor Crown, depicted as a bare-necked truncated bust engraved by Percy Metcalfe. The portrait is rendered in a restrained, naturalistic style with fine detail in the crown's floral and cross motifs. The circular legend reads 'KING GEORGE THE SIXTH' distributed along the left and right periphery of the field. A fine beaded border runs along the inner edge of the milled rim.
