Fort Eustis NCO clubs issued scrip to keep spending within the installation's own economy — a practice common to U.S. military bases during the postwar period when the Army ran its own retail and hospitality infrastructure largely separate from civilian commerce. These fractional pieces circulated exclusively within the club, covering drinks, meals, and incidentals, and were never intended to leave the post.
The broad 1940–1959 dating reflects the difficulty of pinning down exactly when individual denominations entered or left circulation — club scrip was rarely cataloged systematically at the time of issue.
