Issued as part of the Royal Canadian Mint's Vancouver 2010 Olympic series, this coin was one of several colourized sport-themed quarters produced for mass circulation — an unusual decision that put sterling silver into everyday change. Most were pulled by the public immediately, which is why circulated examples are genuinely hard to find despite the relatively high mintage.
