Part of the RCM's ongoing prehistoric animals series, this issue marks the first circulating commemorative to feature Pachyrhinosaurus canadensis, a ceratopsid whose remains were recovered almost exclusively from the Pipestone Creek bonebed in northwestern Alberta — one of the densest dinosaur bonebeds ever excavated in North America. The site was first systematically worked in the 1980s and has yielded thousands of individual bones from what appears to have been a mass death event, possibly a flood crossing.
