| Obverse description | The obverse presents the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled by Ago Aarand after the portrait by Dora de Pédery-Hunt, depicting the Queen in right-facing bust wearing the royal diadem, a necklace, and earrings. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA CANADA, invoking her title by the Grace of God.
