| Reverse description | The reverse presents a full-color photographic portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in her later years, wearing a diamond tiara and formal regalia befitting her coronation anniversary, set against a richly colored background evoking the regal interior of a royal residence with draped red fabric and an additional painted portrait visible in the background. The color image is applied to a circular central field framed by a raised polished border. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper rim in raised serif capitals, while the denomination 25 CENTS and the date 2013 are inscribed along the lower rim, all rendered in the uncolored silver-toned field surrounding the color vignette. |

| Additional information |
Issued to mark the 60th anniversary of Elizabeth II's coronation, this piece belongs to a wave of commemorative quarters the Royal Canadian Mint produced throughout the 2010s — a period when the transition to multi-ply plated steel was well established and allowed higher mintages at lower cost than the silver commemoratives of earlier decades. The coronation itself took place on 2 June 1953 at Westminster Abbey, with Canada represented among the Commonwealth realms for whom the ceremony carried constitutional weight.
