| Reverse description | The reverse features a naturalistic depiction of a Canadian lynx (Lynx canadensis) in profile, designed by artist Alex Colville to commemorate the centennial of Canadian Confederation. The animal is rendered with fine detail, occupying the central field of the coin. The dual date inscription CANADA 1867-1967 arcs along the upper periphery, referencing both the year of Confederation and the centennial year. The denomination 25 CENTS is inscribed along the lower periphery, completing the legend. This design was part of a celebrated series of wildlife reverses issued across all denominations for the 1967 centennial coinage. |
