Additional information

Australia's lunar bullion series from the Perth Mint runs on a twelve-year cycle, meaning this dog-year issue shares a type with the 1994 and 2006 iterations — each struck to different standards and under different branding as the mint refined its bullion program over three decades. The .9999 fineness here is notably purer than the .999 that dominated the earlier runs. Pad printing, applied after striking, deposits color directly onto the surface rather than using enamel inlay, a technique the Perth Mint adopted to differentiate collector-grade bullion from its standard releases without altering the die work itself.
