Reverse description The reverse is a faithful replica of the historic 1813 New South Wales Dump, the centre piece punched from Spanish colonial eight-reales coins to create Australia's first locally sanctioned currency. At centre, a St Edward's Crown is depicted in high relief within a beaded border. The legend NEW SOUTH WALES arcs around the left and right periphery, while the date 1813 appears at the base of the design, all closely reproducing the typology of the original dump coinage issued under Governor Lachlan Macquarie.
